The CFGroup takes great care to operate in an environmentally responsible way. Each manufacturing facility is focused on reducing waste, minimizing our carbon footprint, and using recycled and recyclable materials wherever possible.
In 2009 our Company's production facility in Europe was awarded ISO 14001 certification, which requires some of the most rigorous environmental management standards in the world. For example, this facility is one of the few furniture factories which uses renewable energy from wind turbines for all of its needs.
Over the past 30 years our state of the art metal casting foundry has removed engine components from more than 50 million automobiles and recycled them to make table bases. These bases can in turn be recycled at the end of their lifecycle. Recycling is an essential part of our business culture and we use recycled aluminum and steel for many of our products.
We use FSC hardwoods to produce many of our standard products. Upon customer request we can supply bio foam and recycled materials, such as upholstery fabrics or linoleum, to gain LEED points for any project.
These are just a few examples of the many specific initiatives which ensure we remain responsible stewards of our planet's resources. However, there is one initiative which has been fundamental to our business from the earliest days. The CFGroup produces high quality, comfortable, and classic designs. This not only avoids the worst environmental impacts of 'throwaway products,' but also provides exceptional value to the end user by providing many years of trouble-free service and an incredibly low total cost of ownership.
